- First part of the internship focused on the steel mill slab design problem, a constrained packing problem.
Objective: minimize the black loss segments; three bin capacity levels; orders of different sizes and types, with a cap on how many distinct types may appear in each bin. - Implementation of optimization algorithms for local search, vehicle routing, scheduling, mathematical programming
